Texas NLGJA is the University of Texas at Austin Chapter of NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists. The national organization works with journalists across the news media to promote accurate coverage of LGBTQ communities and issues while also creating diverse and inclusive workplaces by providing education, professional development and mentoring. Here at our university we aim to reach the same goals in our community.

Currently, our organization is the only NLGJA chapter in Texas, but we hope our example encourage journalists at other university chapters to start their own. Our chapter still in its formative years. With our short history, the future is open. Participation in UT NLGJA will provide a unique opportunity for all members to be part of decisions in how the chapter forms and what role we will play in our university community.
